Admin Settings
Administrators can manage Checkout Donations under:
IMC Settings → Donations
Available settings include:
- Enable or disable Checkout Donations.
- Configure the default processing fee.
- Enable membership plan-based processing fees.
- Set percentage and fixed transaction fees for each membership plan.
Note: The processing fee applied to an order is determined by the storefront’s membership plan at the time the order is placed. Changes made later do not affect existing orders.
Payout Workflow
After an order has been successfully paid:
- The donation is recorded in the Donation Ledger.
- The donation follows the standard payout holding period.
- Once available, it is automatically added to the storefront’s available payout balance.
- The storefront requests a payout through the normal payout process.
No separate payout request is required for donations.
Donation Statuses
Donations move through the following statuses:
- On Hold
- Available
- In Payout Request
- Paid Out
These statuses mirror the standard payout workflow.
Refund Policy
Donations are non-refundable after payment has been completed.
This includes:
- Donation amount
- Donation processing fee
If products from the order are refunded:
- The donation remains unchanged.
- The donation processing fee remains unchanged.
The refund interface prevents donation line items from being selected for refund.
If a donation is refunded through an administrative or external process, the system will automatically adjust the donation ledger to ensure payout balances remain accurate.
Support Guidelines
When assisting customers or storefront administrators:
- Explain that the donation processing fee is charged separately from the donation.
- Reinforce that the storefront receives the full donation amount.
- Do not promise refunds for donations or donation processing fees.
- Verify that the customer’s cart contains products from only one storefront if the donation option is missing.
- If discussing payouts, remind storefront administrators that donations are automatically included in their normal payout requests once available.
