Screen Printing

It outlines what to communicate to customers, what information to collect for bulk orders, and the key design limitations to discuss before confirming any project.

Screen printing is ideal for simple, bold designs and bulk quantities (12+ items).
It produces durable, vibrant prints at a lower per-item cost compared to DTG.

In-Hand Date

Always request an in-hand date for every screen print order.
Include this in internal notes or confirm it during the client conversation before finalizing timelines.
This is critical for production scheduling, especially during peak seasons.

📨 Order Submission

Clients can submit screen printing requests through:

  1. Bulk Order Form
    OR
  2. Manual Email Submission if via email, collect the following details:

Design Limitations to Communicate to Clients

These must be clearly explained before confirming a screen print order:

Design TypeLimitation / Alternative
Highly detailed or tiny designsFine lines, small text, or intricate shading may blur or disappear
Photorealistic / gradient-heavy imagesRequire halftones, may appear grainy
Designs with too many colorsLimit to 5–6 colors; each color adds cost and setup time
Full-color or photographic imagesRecommend DTG or sublimation instead
Semi-transparent or fade elementsNot suited for opaque screen inks
Very large solid printsMay crack or feel stiff after washing/stretching
Light inks on dark garmentsRequire a white underbase for vibrancy

Production Notes

  • Turnaround times depend on volume and design complexity.
  • Avoid rushing orders without a confirmed in-hand date.
  • Ensure the art team reviews print sizes to avoid oversized prints crossing seams.
  • Always confirm PMS colors or closest matches if the client specifies exact shades.

CS Talking Points for Clients

Use these as quick reference when communicating with customers:

✅ “Screen printing is great for bulk orders and simple designs — typically 12 or more pieces.”
✅ “Each color in your design needs its own screen, so simpler artwork keeps the cost lower.”
✅ “If your design includes gradients, transparency, or many colors, DTG may be a better fit.”
✅ “We’ll just need your in-hand date, design files, and item details to get your quote started.”
